Therapy Dog program
Our Therapy Dog program offers a unique opportunity for our clients to interact with trained, certified Therapy Dogs. There is established medical studies showing the positive effects therapy dog visits have for students, young children, palliative care patients and patients in hospital and we certainly see the joy they bring to the clients and staff here at Park Place!
Each of these dogs has been trained as a therapy dog and passed a series of tests that demonstrate an even temperament and a good grasp of several Obedience skills. Each dog has a designated handler who has worked many hours with their dog to establish a relationship of trust, love and respect. They work as a team and the communication between handler and dog is evident. The dogs love meeting all the clients!
We are very grateful for the volunteers who come and give of their time to share these dogs with us.

Meet Barbara kloth and her dog baileY
I would like to share a bit about who we are. We are Fred & Barb Kloth. I am the main person who visits with Bailey, Fred is chauffer when the roads are scary. Our home is in the town of Hancock in a rural area. We have a 40-acre farm with a couple of horses and chickens for fresh eggs.
Our Dog Bailey is a 5-yr. old boy who loves to play long shot ball, explore the woods, and cuddle. He thinks he is a great hunter but can never catch up to the turkey he flushes or the rabbits he surprises.!
There are many places that welcome therapy dogs. Park Place is the only facility we visit 2 times a month.
Meet Mary, Art and Their dogs

We are so very pleased to share our Portuguese Water Dogs with all the people at Park Place Adult Day Services. It is so fun getting to know the staff and the clients. We would like to share a bit about who we are. We are Art & Mary Noel. We moved to the area in 2008, the year we retired. We have three grown children and three grandchildren and three Portuguese Water Dogs. Our home is in the town of Rome at Lake Camelot and sits right on the shore of the lake so when we were looking for a dog, we knew wanted a dog that loved the water.
Our first Portuguese Water Dog, Eva, 10 years old, loves walking the shoreline trying to catch a fish. Our middle girl, Robin, loves to swim and our youngest, Violet, is the dock diver. Eva has brought so much to our lives. We have met so many new friends because of this sweet little black dog! Art has learned how to show dogs and successfully taken Eva to her Grand Champion level. She also has several titles in Agility, she has had two litters of puppies. She was a wonderful mom. Caring for those pups was a wonderful thing to behold. She ruled with a gentle paw. We kept a pup from each litter.
Robin is now 6 years old - a tiny girl with a big heart. She is a therapy dog like her mom and competes in Rally events. She will be starting Agility in the fall of 2018. Violet is the baby at 5 and now a champion. She competes in the show ring, has taken therapy dog classes and is now a Certified Therapy Dog. She has almost 50 Therapy visits under her belt. She's a curly girl with a very kind, sweet personality, who had her first litter on February 17, 2019. What a wonderful Ma Ma she was to eight beautiful pups, 3 girls and 5 boys. They all went to wonderful homes.
There are many places that welcome therapy dogs. Besides coming to Park Place every week on Wednesdays or Thursdays, Mary, Eva and Robin currently visit Woodside Elementary School every Tuesday. Omit library for Read dog Program information. Big people and little people alike love the dogs and the dogs love them too! Art and Mary love their therapy dog visits and all the wonderful new people and experiences they have had. All because of a little black dog named Eva.
